The Kennel

So, how we became a kennel, you would ask..?
Well, at first, I wasn't going to start breeding anything. I was happy as a dog owner, but I thought becoming a breeder was something that was not for me. That was until I saw what have became of the Saints around here and elsewhere. The breeding was going downhill, some breeders only breeding for money and fame, resulting in out of standard Saints with sloping back, ever shortening muzzle and too angulated hind legs.

That's when I decided I had to do something! I suddenly felt the real passion for the breed when thinking about how I could help these wonderful, big dogs. I felt calm and my head was clear as lake water in a cool day - if others weren't going to do something about the matter, I would. I would be the change I wanted to see happening in the breeding of Saint Bernards. So, I signed up in the next breeder's course that was being held in my hometown by the Finnish Kennel Association.

I passed the test with full scores at February 17th, 2013.
I posted the papers for my kennelname right away and then it was time to wait.

The kennelname appeared in the Koiramme-magazine [Våra Hundar] number 4/2013.

And finally, it was accepted at July 5th, 2013..!

We are starting out small, and we're going to be a home kennel. The dogs spent their days amongst people, in the house. No factory feeling line of cages can be found in our place - in the yard or in the house. We do have a outdoors cage for the dogs to be in time to time, but that's it - only part time, and not even every day, if they don't want to! We reside in a peaceful suburbia, at the outskirts of the city, next to a wonderful travel connections - we are almost right beside a highway ramp!

Our dogs are full fledged members of our family!
